Position Summary We’re hiring an experienced Director of Advisory Services to lead technical due diligence and advisory services for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. You’ll collaborate closely with other members of the Advisory Team, along with Sales, Marketing, and Operations. Key Responsibilities Lead comprehensive technical due diligence efforts: from initiation to project completion, provide technical insights, and direct construction and completion monitoring for energy assets. Build and maintain client relationships: operate with clients as a key strategic partner and advisor, providing clear insights and support through financing processes. Ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnership growth. Guide internal teams: provide oversight for multidisciplinary teams (advisory, sales, engineering, and others) with clear direction and oversight. Offer your experience to train and mentor others, while continuing to engage in new learning opportunities. Develop high-quality deliverables: consistently defensible, finance-ready work products while meeting required schedules and budgets. Market insight: Anticipate and assess industry shifts and emerging technologies to support organizational competitiveness, while guiding strategic decision making. Technical proficiency: deep understanding of solar and energy storage power plants and equipment, project development lifecycle, financing requirements and expectations, and relevant project counterparties. Experience with other technologies is a plus. Qualifications & Experience Leadership: 8-12 years in the energy industry, including 5+ years leading technical teams performing owner’s and/or independent engineering services. Renewables, energy, industrial data, or instrumentation experience preferred. Experience managing and leading technical SMEs is preferred. Strategic & analytical: Proven ability to support financing and tax equity investment decisions through informed communications and technical knowledge. Technical: Experience with all facets of project development, solar and storage technologies, and broad technical knowledge of contractual arrangements (offtake, interconnection, EPC contracts, O&M contracts, and financial models). Subject matter expertise in a particular focus area is advantageous. Greater consideration will be given to applicants that have experience performing technical due diligence for energy storage systems or individuals who have mechanical and structural engineering expertise. Collaboration & communication: Track record operating cross-functionally with multiple internal teams, external clients, and individuals with both technical and non-technical backgrounds. Customer focus: Clear experience navigating complex client relationships; comfortable engaging directly on strategic opportunities. Mindset: High ownership, organized, and biased to execution. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant field. Relevant master’s degree and/or PE licensure is a plus.
