Position Summary The PV Module Test Technician II works with greater independence than a Level I Technician, running standard test sequences without step-by-step supervision and contributing to the accuracy of the data the Lab delivers to clients.You will operate test equipment independently, perform first-pass data review, and begin to take on light troubleshooting when equipment or results don’t behave as expected. You’ll also start mentoring Level I Technicians informally, sharing what you’ve learned about the equipment and procedures. Key Responsibilities Set up and program test equipment independently (climate chambers, solar flasher, UV chambers, electrical and mechanical test equipment) according to written procedures Run and monitor full test sequences for safety and performance testing of PV modules per UL and IEC standards Perform first-pass review of collected data for completeness and obvious errors before hand-off Identify basic equipment issues and perform routine troubleshooting, escalating anything beyond scope Assist test engineers in trial runs of new or revised test procedures Informally guide Level I Technicians on equipment operation and lab protocol Maintain test logs and equipment calibration records Qualifications and Experience Associate degree in environmental, electrical, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience) 1–3 years of experience in a test laboratory, manufacturing, or similar technical environment Demonstrated ability to operate test and measurement equipment independently Proficiency with spreadsheets and lab data systems Ability to work in personal protective equipment and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Additional Desirable Qualifications Working knowledge of UL 1703 and IEC 61215/61646/62108 test standards Experience assisting with fixture building or material handling improvements Exposure to ISO 17025 laboratory practices or other quality management systems Basic scripting or data-handling skills (e.g., Excel formulas, light Python) GroundWork is a Certified B Corporation and proud equal opportunity employer.
