Position Summary Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative, and highly entrepreneurial company. The senior accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial procedures and records in accordance to US GAAP. Duties also include assuming a supervision role to guide junior accountants, reviewing financial data, and acting as a cross-functional collaborator between departments and management. Key Responsibilities Maintain the monthly close process: journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis across business units Maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations Support revenue recognition across multiple business lines (equipment sales, services, subscription-based monitoring programs) Manage the accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes Manage cash flow process Participate regularly in meetings/presentations and, at times, facilitate Create ad-hoc reports and analysis for various business needs Lead expense report submission and approval process using Expensify expense management system Help prepare schedules and support annual audit Help prepare schedules and support tax preparation by third party accountants Support monthly inventory cycle count process Perform other accounting and finance related duties as needed to support team and company Help support and supervise junior accountants Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Qualifications and Experience 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Passion for growing a focused renewable energy business with a team that believes the climate impact of the business drives strong growth A team player with strong communication skills Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA track a plus Proficient working knowledge of US GAAP NetSuite experience a plus Strong skills in spreadsheets and other computer applications used in financial reports and analysis, with emphasis on Excel / Google Sheets Ability to adapt to learn new software programs GroundWork is a Certified B Corporation and proud equal opportunity employer.
